 Dr. Derek Tom was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. He graduated from Punahou high school (The "Buff and Blue!!!") and received his undergraduate degree (B.S.) from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Tom completed his dental school education at the University of Missouri Kansas City and then went on to Louisiana State University for two additional years to receive his post graduate pediatric dental degree.
Dr. Tom is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), Hawaii Dental Association (HDA), and Honolulu County Dental Association. He is also a member of the Papaniho study club and serves as a dental consultant for Kulama Malama which is a medical facility for children needing long term assistance.
When he is not at the dental office, Dr. Tom enjoys his free time out in the ocean fishing, spearfishing, kayaking or trying to keep fit though playing basketball and Bikram Yoga. However, his true passion is spending time with his wife Lara, his parents, and family and friends.

 Dr. Lauren Jenni Imai was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and is a graduate of Iolani School (Go Raiders!). Following high school, she graduated from the combined B.A./D.D.S program from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), where she was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society and was also awarded the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Pre-doctoral Student Award. While in dental school she realized her interest in dentistry focused on the oral healthcare of children and adolescents. Following dental school she completed her pediatric dentistry residency at the University of California-San Francisco (UCSF) and also earned a master of science (M.S.) in oral and craniofacial sciences. She was awarded the California Society of Dentistry for Children, Eric B. Bystrom DDS Memorial Pediatric Dentistry Award for Excellence in the Treatment of Special Needs Patients.
Dr. Imai is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), Hawaii Dental Association (HDA), and Honolulu County Dental Association. She is also a member of the Papaniho study club.
In her spare time, Dr. Imai enjoys spending time with her husband Brett, usually watching the Kansas City Chiefs, snorkeling, or fishing.
