At Aiea Pediatric Dental Center, we will always place the health and safety of our community as our highest priority. We have revised our protocols to make your child’s visit to the dental office as safe as possible. Although some of our new policies are a bit inconvenient, we are taking the current pandemic very seriously and are trying to do everything to prevent transmission of any disease during these times.
- We ask patients to call us from the parking lot when arriving at our office. Please do not enter our office as someone will come out to greet you.
- When scheduling your appointment, we will ask for an email or phone number so that we can provide a link to fill out a Pre-Screening Covid-19 Form.
- For families with multiple children, only 1 form will need to be filled out, however, these forms will ask questions that are pertaining to your entire family, not just one child.
- Filling out the form prior to the appointment would be appreciated.
- If the form is not filled out prior to the appointment, it will need to be filled out before your child can enter our facility.
- A text will have a link provided to you that allows you to fill out your child’s updated Health History Form.
- Once the Covid and health history forms are completed, please call our office to notify staff that you are done with the forms and they will instruct you on when to proceed to the front door. Please wear a mask. If there are other families waiting outside our door, please stay 6 ft away from each other.
- An employee will come out to greet you at the front door. Before entering our office, there will be a temperature check (using a non-contact thermometer) for every patient/parent who enters our facility.
- Masks are required to enter our office.
- Please use the hand sanitizing station located inside our front door.
- If there are any signs or symptoms of a cold (e.g. cough, headache, runny nose, fever), we will need to reschedule your child’s appointment. We understand that there may be some children who may have lingering symptoms such as a cough that lasted for months, but there are no exceptions to this policy under the current circumstances. Our staff is required to take daily temperature checks.
- We ask that only one parent accompany their child/children to his or her appointment and if possible, to only bring children who have a scheduled appointment.
- Parents should wait in their car during treatment. No one will be allowed to wait in the waiting room.
- For those with young children, you are most welcome to be with your child during their cleaning appointments.
- We have removed magazines and children’s toys since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
- We are doubling each appointment time slot to reduce the amount of patients seen each day. If you need to cancel your child’s appointment, please contact us right away. We are trying to accommodate all the patients we had scheduled during the 4 months we were closed. Broken appointments or not showing up for appointments will be very difficult to reschedule.
